We don’t really know when Frida Sundemo wrote her new single “Backbone” but with lyrics like “Oh It doesn’t look bright / But we’ll be alright”, it sounds made for our crazy times. Knowing that the Gothenburg pop artist has been studying in medical school and has even helped in the COVID-19 effort in Sweden, it doesn’t sound like a coincidence. “Sounds In My Head is about just that. Ideas and feelings inside of me translated into music,” she explained.
Taken from the EP, her latest single “backbone” is a beautiful post-breakup ballad where she explores “guilt, regret and endless love”. Listen below.
