Wy’s singer Ebba Gustafsson Ågren aka Cuntrie explores her phobias in “Spider”.
In case you missed it, wy’s singer Ebba Gustafsson Ågren has a solo project named Cuntrie. Earlier this year, she dropped her debut single, “The Singer”, and she has now returned with another singular track titled “Spider”.
Spiders, snakes, height, crowd… We all have very personal fears and phobias and this is this topic that inspired her new song. That is probably why the track starts with a very weird noise, like if she was screaming and feeling disgusted by this huge spider on the ceiling.
“Spider is about trivial fears and weird dreams,” she explains about the lyrics. “I’ve had a major fear of the dark since I was a child and I had a real problem with going to sleep for many years. I still have a lot of nightmares, but writing a song about them somehow made them less scary. Nightmares can become really silly in the daytime.”
