Coral’s new song “better” is a big “thank you”, and a small “fuck you” to her ex.
Miranda Coral Engholm, also known as Coral, made her debut on Feverish earlier this year with the double single “find me wrong/you’re not worth a song but still you got one”. The Swedish artist, who grew up as a theatre kid in Österlen, has now returned with a very relatable acoustic ballad dedicated to her ex.
The track also comes with a self-made video that she shot while travelling South America (logical as she also has Argentinian roots).
About the track, she explained:
“A few years ago I wrote a song about my ex, because my ex wrote a song about me and I wanted to be just as cool as he was. It’s about missing, loving, and longing but also feeling disappointed. It’s a big “thank you” while it’s also a small “fuck you”. But honestly, I’m fine, we’re good friends now.”
About the visuals, she then added:
“I have a theory that some songs are the perfect “sitting on the train, looking out the window”-types of songs, I even made a Spotify playlist for just that. I think my new track ‘better’ fits that playlist. The music video reflects the same feeling because it’s really just me, filming on my phone when I was travelling in South America for five months last year.”
