New: I Am Karate – “Freaky”

Swedish pop duo I Am Karate shares “Freaky”, a flamboyant and bittersweet bop about masturbating to your ex.

Both coming from the deep forest of Dalarna, Marta Pettersson and Erika Ahlström are the two songwriters and producers behind the electro-pop band I Am Karate. After a series of successful singles, like “Bitter” and “Swayze”, they have now shared the first single from their upcoming self-produced and self-released debut album which will be available via their own label I Am Karate Music.

Titled “Freaky”, their new song is an instant bop with bittersweet lyrics and perfectly polished electro-pop arrangements. About the origin of the track, they detailed:

“Freaky is when you’re masturbating to your ex and feeling sorry for yourself. Like being stuck on a person that broke your heart, but since you can’t be rational about it you just never let go and start becoming a freak. Based on a true story…”
