New: Boy Pablo – “Never Cared” (feat. Jimi Somewhere)

Bergen’s indie pop five-piece Boy Pablo link up with genre-defying artist Jimi Somewhere for “Never Cared,” a laidback and reckless single that arrives just at the right time for Summer.

Do we still need to introduce you to Boy Pablo? The band, that is actually Nicolás Pablo Rivera Muñoz’s brainchild, is probably one of the best success stories from the Internet as their single “Everytime” became a huge hit thanks to YouTube’s algorithms, gathering millions of views in a record time without any promotion.

On their new song, “Never Cared,” the indie pop five-piece invite their Norwegian fella Jimi Somewhere; an artist whose music is quite hard to pin down (let’s say a fusion between R&B and indie to keep it simple). As its title suggests it, “Never Cared” is pretty chill and nonchalant and has a delightful summer vibe.

About the origin of the track, Boy Pablo detailed:

“Last Summer Fabio invited a bunch of friends to come hang out at his house outside of Bergen. There wasn’t any instruments except for my guitar but Fabio found these two toy Casio keyboards that he had since he was a kid so we started playing with those. I locked down the chords quick on the keyboard and started working on the beat with Milo (frequent Jimi Somewhere producer), while Jimi already had the hook melody. Everything fell together very fast and organic. The track was finished by the end of the weekend. We even shot the video with the Also Known crew who do a lot of our tour photography. It’s just one of those moments that came together to make something special”
