New: Simen Mitlid – “Trying”

Norwegian artist Simen Mitlid unveils today the fourth single taken from his upcoming sophomore album Neutral due out September 21.

Coming from the woody area of Os in the Midhordland region of Norway, singer-songwriter Simen Mitlid draws inspirations from contemporaries such as Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes and Patrick Watson. Loaded with pop hooks, his lush folk songs sound both playful and nostalgic. After the Summer, Mitlid will finally unveil his sophomore album from which is taken this brand new single “Trying”. Originally composed for Simen’s first band (a punk-hardcore formation named Sjøhestfamilien in the mid 2000’s), the track relies on a bright and cheerful indie pop instrumentation as well as simple yet infectious gimmicks (lalalalalalaala).
