New: Deportees – “A Love Design”

Following up on their apocalyptic album The Big Sleep, Swedish indie darlings Deportees are back with an EP full of hope.

Deportees might be perfect strangers for you guys but they have won credits, both from the industry and the fans, in their native Sweden. Originally from Umeå, a remote city in the far north, the trio has just released a brand new EP, Re-dreaming, which was produced by Pontus Winnberg (from Miike Snow and Amason), Johannes Berglund (who has worked with The Radio Dept, Ane Brun, Fever Ray etc) and Måns Lundberg (who has worked with Shout Out Louds etc). Impressive casting, isn’t it?

About the EP, they explained:

“Re-dreaming’ is a loving assault on the feeling of a lost future. Not because it’s necessarily a false prophecy, but because it’s a dangerous one.”

Taken from the 5-track project, their new single “A Love Design” embraces a luminous and uplifting indie pop sound. With its smart structure, the track plays with the listeners, hinting at drops that never happens. With lyrics like “I should be scared, but somehow I’m not,” the bright track perfectly encapsulates the positive spirit of this new record, opening the arms to the future despite its huge uncertainty.
