Denmark opens the first-ever waste food market. The market tackles the problem of surplus food by collecting variety of products that are going to be thrown away or go to waste. Thanks to that, the market prevents foods being thrown away and sells them at 30-50 per cent lower prices.

The market’s aim is not only attracting people with lower income but also combating with massive amounts of food wasted every year . Although the amount of food waste produced has decreased around 5 per cent, still more than 700,000 metric tons in Denmark goes wasted. The Minister of Food, Eva Kjer Hansen appreciates France preventing supermarkets throwing away of food and considers this movement as a significant step.
