Rising Norwegian indie pop band Mall Girl unleash fuzzy, defiant new track “Bad Girl”.
Following their retro-inspired track “My Sweet Mall Girl“, Mall Girl return with a brand new sound. Fuzzy and defiant, “Bad Girl” brims with power and attitude. The frontal track even finishes with a stoner, metal-inflected cacophony.
“The song is about how overwhelming all these different expectations of what it means to be a person can be. Sometimes it feels like you can only be put into one box at a time; you’re either good or you’re bad.”
“We wrote ‘Bad Girl’ a year ago when we decided it was time to record the song. At that time Bethany lived on a homestead in the Swedish countryside with a studio. Surrounded by all this idyllic scenery, we recorded our most rock-influenced song yet.”
