Having a long long real name (Beatrice Elin Elisabeth Blennberger) like many Scandinavian artists, Beatrice Eli does indie-pop and dancing music. She first gained attention with her 2012 single “The Conqueror”.
Beatrice told Beat “I’ve tried and failed to be a nice girl”. She first imagined herself singing jazz songs as she was listening to Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. But later she set up a small studio in her house and learns how to do electronic music, so “weird and dramatic” melodies that she produced home consist her first single project.
She seized her own style with her 2014 album “Die Another Day” in which she fuses Swedish dance music with RnB and pop that we are accustomed to hearing versions of poor quality.
